Lions bump up a bit, but are still too far down for my liking. And it’s looking like a Falcons-Texans Super Bowl still. BUT WE SHALL SEE, SHAN’T WE?

2012 NFL Power Rankings, After Week 6

Another interesting week. But then again, they all are when you look closely enough. My Lions squeaked out a win, making me once again t hunk “If only they could play FOUR quarters as well as they play the FOURTH quarter!” Meanwhile, the Bears snuck a little higher. And the Vikings? The Vikings are making their way up top, despite a tough loss. This year gets weirder and weirder.

1 Atlanta Falcons 27.14
2 Chicago Bears 25.84
3 Houston Texans 24.42
4 Baltimore Ravens 23.74
5 San Francisco 49ers 22.25

The Texans are tearing it up, having their best season so far. And the good news for my Lions is they didn’t lose this week. Or win. They were on a bye.

2 Atlanta Falcons 27.47
3 San Francisco 49ers 26.04
4 Chicago Bears 25.84

Horribly disappointment for Lions fans, but a few things are shaking out. At this rate, it’s going to be an Atlanta/Houston Super Bowl. Which I don’t think will happen, but all the prognosticators are sniffing at this possibility. They forget that playoffs fuck everything up.

1 Houston Texans 29.36
2 Atlanta Falcons 27.63
3 Arizona Cardinals 27.04
4 San Francisco 49ers 23.51
5 Chicago Bears 23.46
6 Baltimore Ravens 22.88
7 San Diego Chargers 22.64
8 Minnesota Vikings 21.76
9 Cincinnati Bengals 20.00
10 New England Patriots 18.87

2012 NFL Power Rankings, After Week 3

Another rough one for my Lions. They’re descending into the bottom, but it’s still early yet. Meanwhile, this is shaping up to be a season to remember for a lot of teams (Arizona?), but how much of the weirdness is due to the shoddy performance of the replacement refs? Who knows? Maybe things will stabilize. Either way, football.

1 Houston Texans 29.03
2 Atlanta Falcons 28.69
3 Arizona Cardinals 27.80
4 Chicago Bears 21.65
5 Baltimore Ravens 21.57
6 Seattle Seahawks 21.56
7 New York Giants 21.49
8 San Diego Chargers 20.33
9 Minnesota Vikings 20.02
10 Buffalo Bills 19.44 Continue reading

Ugh. My Lions drop horribly after a stupid loss in San Francisco, but the teams at the top are rolling strong. Still early in the season, so there’s no room to make predictions and proclamations. However, notice that the difference between #23 and #10 is two points. Too close to call!

1 Houston Texans 30.69
2 San Diego Chargers 29.79
3 Atlanta Falcons 27.03
4 San Francisco 49ers 26.54
5 Arizona Cardinals 25.29
6 Philadelphia Eagles 24.40
7 Baltimore Ravens 20.72
